Since launching in the first half 2003, Google AdSense has had a big impact on affiliate marketing. Primarily, it has taken over lots of Web site real estate that was formerly going to affiliate programs.
If you are not familiar with AdSense, it delivers relevant ads that are precisely targeted on a page-by-page basis to the content people find on your site. You can get AdSense ads in eleven different sizes, and make customizations to make them fit in with the color scheme of your site.
If you're like me, you compulsively check your Google AdSense stats. How many impressions were served today? How many clicks? The effective CPM? The overall earnings? I've just got to know this information constantly.
But each time I need to get my fix, I've got to login and check the stats. And that's a hassle.
That was the old way, anyhow. Now I just run my mouse down to my system tray and I get an update of my daily AdSense performance with a free piece of software called SySense.
SySense is a Google AdSense monitor that displays your current Google AdSense information in the Windows system tray.
This is a really good tool, and it can be configured a number of ways for the frequency of auto updates, which stats to show in the system tray, whether to load it when Windows starts up, etc.
