1. Affiliate Summit Preview Call on April 20
On Thursday, April 20th at 3 p.m. EDT / Noon PDT, Affiliate Summit and Conference Call University will be hosting the third Affiliate Summit Preview call with three guests: Stephanie Schwab, Dave Williams, and Kevin McCormick.
First up will be Stephanie Schwab, Vice President of Converseon and Dave Williams, Manager of E-Commerce for the Science Education Affiliate Network.
Stephanie and Dave will discuss "Building a Multi-Brand Niche Affiliate Program," the subject they'll be covering in a case study presentation at Affiliate Summit 2006 East.
Science Kit, who is partnered with affiliate management agency Converseon, built an in-house program where all of their brands live together in a "mini-network," the Science and Education Affiliate Network (SEAN).
The second part of the call will be focused on Kevin McCormick, Owner of DressKevin.com. Kevin will talk about the use of Google AdSense and other affiliate advertising to monetize his popular site.

2. Double-Dipping the Affiliate Chip
The issue of affiliate network employees acting as affiliates in their own time is not going away. I keep hearing from affiliates who are mad as hell about the whole situation.
If you are not familiar with this situation, where some former CJ employees were playing the affiliate game while collecting a CJ paycheck, it's been covered ad infinitum by industry bloggers, including David Lewis, Vinny Lingham, Lisa Picarille, and Adam Viener.
As reported by David Lewis in late January, "The Rumour Mill has it that three top account managers left CJ this week to avoid enforcement of a policy forbidding them to have affiliate sites of their own."

3. Two Guides to Google AdSense for Affiliates
How does he do it? That's what people are always asking about Joel Comm. It seems he is putting out great AdSense resources every week: tools, seminars, e-books, real books, etc.
Just the other day, I sat down with Joel to discuss "Life Beyond AdSense" as part of his teleseminar series, The AdSense Code. This is a seven part series where Joel hosts discussions with folks willing to share the wisdom in a variety of areas that complement AdSense.
Other speakers in Joel's series have included Tim Carter, Brad Fallon, Christopher Knight, Alex Mandossian, Craig Perrine, and Mark Widawer.
Aside from The AdSense Code being the name of Joel's teleseminar series, it's also the title of his new book, available now on Amazon.
The AdSense Code book is a great primer for the world of Google AdSense. It's written in plain English and packed with tons of tips and tricks to increase AdSense commissions.

5. Trading in LinkedIn for MySpace
I've never really found much value in LinkedIn - lots of requests for introductions from people I don't really know for the most part.
So I finally closed my account over there and I've started one up at MySpace.
The reasons are many:
- It's a monster community and I want to keep tabs on advertising opportunities
- I'm able to create a more robust bio in HTML
- I see various ways to sell my various businesses and projects that I couldn't do in the more buttoned up LinkedIn
If you've got an account there - add me to your friends: http://www.myspace.com/affiliatemarketer
Plus, this is an exciting opportunity for everybody that ever wondered about my favorite movies. Now you can see them in my profile at MySpace.
6. Getting Things Done - Book Report for Affiliate Marketers
One of the biggest hurdles to succeeding in affiliate marketing is the lack of productivity. While some people tout their multi-tasking skills, there is something to be said for single tasking and focusing on the completion of projects.
When I picked up a copy of Getting Things Done: The Art of Stress-Free Productivity by David Allen, I hoped to pick up some useful tips on streamlining my operation.
What I got was a new, more efficient way of doing things that has made me more productive. David Allen's premise is pretty basic: our productivity is directly proportional to our ability to relax.
That's not to say that it's time for all of us to start taking a daily siesta (how nice would that be?!), but that we achieve more efficient results and unleash our creative potential when our minds are clear and our thoughts are organized.
