1. New Social Network for Internet Marketers
There is a new social network, Monky C, which is geared towards the Internet marketer community, according to an announcement today.

The Monky C Social Network has formally left Beta and launched in Gamma today, and they are accepting requests for invitations to use it.

“It’s a online community where forward thinking executives and A-list bloggers can share ideas and discuss life-hacks,” said Loof Lirpa, CEO of Monky C.

I just signed up and it looks pretty cool. Nice to have a social network just for Internet marketers.

2. GeekCast 11 - Donkey Punches and Affiliate Thugs
On the last episode of the GeekCast, the regular crowd of Sam Harrelson, Jim Kukral, Lisa Picarille and me talked about business liabilities and bad linkbait.

There is a bit of a geek fight over what’s better, ScreenFlow and Skitch on the Mac or Camtasia and SnagIt on the PC. And we got into the gender wars in affiliate video, as well as the elite video bloggers and their fur covered faces.

3. eBay Partner Network Accepting Applications
eBay announced a couple weeks back that they were migrating their affiliate program from Commission Junction to an in-house affiliate program.

The eBay Partner Network is now open and accepting affiliate applications.

I just joined and I’ve been poking around. As you might expect, there is an option to receive commissions via PayPal (an eBay company). You can also get paid by direct deposit.

The interface and clean and intuitive. It’s quick and easy to generate links, and it looks like everything is working, except for the “widgets”, which indicate that they are “coming soon.”

The affiliate program has a blog, and there is a helpful post for affiliates migrating from CJ to the new program.

5. Gary Vaynerchuk to Keynote Affiliate Summit 2009 West
Gary Vaynerchuk, star of Wine Library TV and Director of Operations at Wine Library in Springfield, NJ, will keynote Affiliate Summit 2009 West.

Based on the success of his Wine Library TV show, he’s been featured on the Ellen DeGeneres Show, Late Night with Conan O’Brien, and Nightline.

Gary’s love affair with wine began at a young age when he started reading Robert Parker and Wine Advocate and blossomed over the years as he traveled around the world to various wine-producing regions (his wife remains blissfully unaware of this affair).
