Since I get questions about my typical day at AskShawnCollins.com from time to time, I thought I'd put together a short video to tell the story.

My day consists of various things related to being an affiliate, affiliate manager and working on the Affiliate Summit conference.

2. Take the Affiliate Manager Survey
The sixth annual AffStat affiliate manager survey is now open for affiliate managers to share their information.

The AffStat survey covers the overall statistics for affiliate programs, as well as a number of issues that face affiliate managers.

Affiliate managers that complete the survey will receive a full copy of the AffStat 2008 Report when it is published in early 2008. Download an excerpt of the AffStat 2007 Report.

Areas covered in the survey included affiliate networks, staffing, affiliate recruiting, and management.

The survey questions are broken out by affiliate program type: pay per lead or pay per sale.

The AffStat 2008 survey also includes a section where affiliates managers can sound off in their own words on a variety of industry issues.

3. CNN YouTube Debates in Google AdSense Video Units
The Google AdSense Team has announced that both the Democrat and Republican CNN YouTube Debate highlights are available in Video Units.

In order to get the clips for your video units, choose “CNN YouTube Debates” as a content provider on the Edit AdSense Player page.

And an important enhancement, which was included in this announcement, is that affiliates can now specify the video they wish to display in their Video Unit.

5. An Affiliate Done Wrong
I just wanted to share frustrating affiliate story with you. Back on November 2, 2007, I was accepted by the YouSendIt affiliate program.

I was interested in promoting YouSendIt, because I’ve been a satisfied, paying customer of their service for a while, and I’ve recommended them (without compensation) to lots of people.

If you’re not familiar with the service, it’s a way to transfer and share really big files (up to 2GB), and I’ve found it really useful to share big video files, PowerPoint, etc.

Anyhow, I was planning to run a whole big campaign to promote YouSendIt in my blog, sites, newsletters, etc.
