1. Ze Frank Named Keynote Speaker for Affiliate Summit
Ze Frank (pronounced "Zay"), the keynote speaker for Affiliate Summit 2007 East, provides a truly entertaining and yet insightful look at how technology and creativity intersect, especially in web design, marketing and new forms of media.
Ze has unique experience doing new media design and marketing for important customers, helping them understand viral marketing and the contagious media in which it takes place, and to think about creative development in general.
He spent two months in 2004 as Artist in Residence at MSN, helping them develop strategies for creating online community spaces-his specialty.

2. Ask Shawn Collins: What is Web 2.0?
What is Web 2.0 and how can it be leveraged for affiliate marketing?
Web 2.0 is more than another meaningless marketing buzzword. It's the next generation of Web-based resources, services and tools with a focus on collaboration and sharing among users.
There are a lot of things that fall under the umbrella of Web 2.0, such as wikis, social networks, widgets, video tools, and other applications tools being used online - some can help directly or indirectly with affiliate marketing.
I go into more detail on Web 2.0 and affiliate marketing in my video response to this question.
3. Clickable Video as Affiliate Creative
I came across some interesting video creative recently as part of Ken Evoy's Video Build It!. Ken's affiliate program enables affiliates to feature his clickable videos, and that got me very curious about the potential to use clickable video in other affiliate programs.
Ken shared that we was using a service called Web Video Zone. I took a look at their site and it's quite a dynamic solution for affiliates and affiliate managers.
Web Video Zone is rich in features and functionality, but the part that gets me excited is the Video Affiliate System.
Affiliate managers simply need to come up with video creative for their affiliates and the WVZ (Web Video Zone) Video Affiliate System does the rest.

5. Affiliate Right to Privacy
If you are an affiliate who works from home, I'd suggest taking some measures to protect your privacy.
I know many affiliates already do this through private domain registrations and the like, but I still see plenty of home addresses listed in the WHOIS for domains, as well as on contact forms.
I touched on this a little a while back in an affiliate tip on incorporating an affiliate business, but I was reminded of it again today.
I made my regular pilgrimage to the local UPS Store, where I have a box as my business address, and the owner mentioned that some people stopped in last week looking for me.
She also mentioned that some lady was asking for me there in mid-January.
In both cases, they were friendlies. But being that I work from home, I don't want to have my address out there for any crackpot.
So if you're working from home and sharing your home address, you ought to rethink it.
6. Want to Speak at Affiliate Summit 2007 East?
The next Affiliate Summit is taking place July 8-10, 2007 in Miami and we are currently accepting speaker submissions.
Some attributes that will increase the chances of a person's proposal being accepted are: case studies with new, interesting data; nuts and bolts on how you do what you do; advanced level content. We are not interested in material targeted to beginners or topics previously presented elsewhere.
Submit a speaking proposal at http://www.affiliatesummit.com/07e_speakers.php
No sales pitches or self promotion.
Affiliates and merchants will receive preference over agencies for speaking roles. The submission deadline is March 16, 2007. Any submissions after this date will not be considered.
Accepted speakers will be notified no later than April 2, 2007. If you have not been contacted by April 2, 2007, your proposal was not accepted.
A complimentary full-conference registration is provided to speakers as well. Travel and hotel are not included.
As always, I'd love to hear from you! Drop me a line and let me know if you have any suggestions or questions.
