1. Get Your Copy of the Affiliate Manager Survey
The sixth annual AffStat affiliate manager survey is open for affiliate managers to share their information throgh January 11, 2008.
 The AffStat survey covers the overall statistics for affiliate programs, as well as a number of issues that face affiliate managers.
Affiliate managers that complete the survey will receive a full copy of the AffStat 2008 Report when it is published in early 2008. Download an excerpt of the AffStat 2007 Report.
Areas covered in the survey included affiliate networks, staffing, affiliate recruiting, and management.
The survey questions are broken out by affiliate program type: pay per lead or pay per sale.
The AffStat 2008 survey also includes a section where affiliates managers can sound off in their own words on a variety of industry issues.

2. Affiliate Fatblogging, Episode 7
I took off from affiliate fatblogging for Christmas week. While I was being good most of the time, I came across some closed circuit footage of myself and figured I would probably have bad results.
So I figured it was probably best staying off the scale for the week.
But now I’m back and ready to kick things up for 2008. I just got on the scale for the first weigh in of the year, and I am happy to report that I’ve hit the milestone of ten pounds lost.
I’m now at 206 pounds, and I’m gunning for 195 by the start of Affiliate Summit on February 24, 2008.
My formula for weight loss so far has been a healthy diet via Weight Watchers, multiple trips to the gym each week, and lots of water.
Any affiliate marketers that are thinking about getting on a diet for the new year, I’d definitely recommend Weight Watchers (I’m on the Core plan). You get to eat real food and enough to keep you satisfied.

3. The Future of Affiliate Marketing in 2008
Happy 2008. It's that time when everybody is talking about what is going to happen in the industry over the coming year.
I figured I would share my own idea about the future of affiliate marketing for 2008.

5. Twitter Tracking for Affiliates
I was catching up on some Tweets (Twitter posts) from Robert Scoble and saw an interesting one about a functionality to track keywords used in Tweets by others.
It turns out this feature for Tracking Twitter has been around for months, but I hadn’t checked out the Twitter blog, so I was in the dark.
Anyhow, it works over IM and text messaging and sends notifications when a Tweet is posted for keywords you set up.
Similar to my use of Google Alerts, I am using it to monitor mentions of various names, companies, and industry specific keywords.
So it’s something affiliate marketers can use to keep up on news about merchants and networks, general industry happenings, etc.
Plus, it’s a networking tool that enables you to find folks you didn’t previously know who are talking about topics that matter to you.
