1. Hug It Out, Affiliate!
Affiliate Summit is once again working in tandem with a charity for the upcoming show in Miami. This past January in Las Vegas, affiliate marketers combined to donate nearly $25,000 to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southern Nevada.
We are working with the March of Dimes, a non-profit health organization that works to prevent premature birth and other serious threats to infant health, this time around. The fundraising efforts kick off with AffiliateHug.com.
AffiliateHug.com is a joint effort between Affiliate Summit and Scott Hazard.
For an online donation of $20.00, individuals will receive a certificate entitling them to one (1) ScooterSqueeze™ from Scott and a "Freshly Squeezed" commemorative t-shirt. Certificates can be redeemed at the Affiliate Meet Market on Sunday, July 8, 2007 during Affiliate Summit.
Premature birth affects more than half a million babies in the U.S. every year. It's the #1 cause of newborn death, and babies who survive may suffer lifelong consequences, such as cerebral palsy, mental retardation, chronic lung disease, and vision and hearing loss.
So book your hugs at AffiliateHug.com and help the babies. All monies raised through AffiliateHug.com will go directly to the March of Dimes.

2. Finding Affiliate Programs
How do I find companies that have affiliate programs?
One thing you could do is just go into Google and search for “affiliate directory.” You’ll then see a list of the leading affiliate directories, which you can use to find companies by name and category that offer affiliate programs.
Also, you could go to the bigger affiliate networks, such as Commission Junction, Kolimbo, LinkShare, Performics, ShareASale, zanox, etc.
Personally, I go to the companies I want to promote with the hope that they have an affiliate program.
The quickest way to find out if they have an affiliate program is to take a look at the footer of their Web site. Generally, they will have a link that says “Affiliate Program” or “Affiliates” that leads to details about their affiliate program.
Additionally, check the search engines for the category you are seeking. So if you are looking for affiliate programs that sell shoes, search for shoe affiliate in the search engines.
Those techniques ought to help you find the information you need.
3. Affiliate Shop Builder 2.0
Shop builders and showcases have been around affiliate marketing for years, and the concept continually evolves. Lately, I’ve been playing with PopShops, which bills itself as “a new generation of affiliate tools.”
Features of PopShops include the ability to search for products across multiple networks and merchants; personalized product recommendations with ease; customized showcases with easy-to-use layout editors; and showcases can be added to sites as JavaScript, PHP or ASP.
PopShops Basic is free, and then there are enhanced versions (Pro and Enterprise) for flat monthly fees.
The affiliate programs available in PopShops include those using Commission Junction, LinkShare, ShareASale and independent programs.
